چکیده

A model and analytical method for solving a problem of coupled fluid flow in the reservoir/well system is presented. The 3-D drainage area is composed of three connected media: the tubing, the annuli (considered as a super conducting collector), and the reservoir itself. To couple the fluid flows in these areas a non-overlapping Dirichlet-Neumann domain decomposition method is developed theoretically and tested numerically. The method allows to build an analytical hybrid simulator for accurate evaluation of the impact of the main geometrical and hydrodynamic parameters of the 3-D system on the pressure drop along the horizontal well and on its production index.

A MULTI-OBJECTIVE EVOLUTIONARY ALGORITHM USING DECOMPOSITION (MOEA/D) AND ITS APPLICATION IN MULTIPURPOSE MULTI-RESERVOIR OPERATIONS

This paper presents a Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm based on Decomposition (MOEA/D) for the optimal operation of a complex multipurpose and multi-reservoir system. Firstly, MOEA/D decomposes a multi-objective optimization problem into a number of scalar optimization sub-problems and optimizes them simultaneously. It uses information of its several neighboring sub-problems for optimizin...

Numerical Study of Coupled Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in a Rectangular Domain at Moderate Reynolds Numbers using the Control Volume ‎Method

In this paper, we have used a control volume method to investigate the problem of a fully coupled fluid flow with heat transfer in a rectangular domain with slip wall boundary conditions. We have used this method to solve the governing equations and thereby to compute the convective and diffusive fluxes at the cell faces of the control volumes considered around the grid points of computational ...

Nearwell local space and time refinement in reservoir simulation

Abstract. In reservoir simulations, nearwell regions usually require finer space and time scales compared with the remaining of the reservoir domain. We present a domain decomposition algorithm for a two phase Darcy flow model coupling nearwell regions locally refined in space and time with a coarser reservoir discretization. The algorithm is based on an optimized Schwarz method using a full ov...

Are There Any Differences in Seismic Performance Evaluation Criteria for Concrete Arch Dams?

Differences between stress-based and strain-based criteria are investigated in seismic performance evaluation of the arch dams in time domain. A numerical model of the coupled dam-reservoir-foundation system is prepared with the finite element technique. Reservoir is modeled using the Eulerian approach as a compressible domain, and the foundation rock is assumed to be massless. Dynamic equilibr...

Identifying Flow Units Using an Artificial Neural Network Approach Optimized by the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

The spatial distribution of petrophysical properties within the reservoirs is one of the most important factors in reservoir characterization. Flow units are the continuous body over a specific reservoir volume within which the geological and petrophysical properties are the same. Accordingly, an accurate prediction of flow units is a major task to achieve a reliable petrophysical description o...
